■Mag Shield
Anglers who fish in extreme environments require reels to maintain their performance under any environment. However, waterproofing rotating structures has been a challenge that all developers have struggled with since the past. The key issue with rotating structures is that they require space for things to rotate. If that space is closed off for waterproofing, rotational performance will be lost. The solution to this problem is MagShield, which is based on the idea of "blocking liquid with liquid." This is DAIWA's only technology that prevents seawater and dust from entering the reel with a magnetic oil wall that can exist semi-permanently. This ground-breaking technology, announced in 2010, has continued to evolve since its introduction by being installed on line rollers and ball bearings, and is now becoming an essential technology for DAIWA reels and anglers.
