A basic model reborn with a new monocoque body!
Daiwa LB reel's basic model "Cygnus" is now available with a new monocoque body!

The first point of the "monocoque body" is "silky rotation." ``Silky rotation'' has been achieved by improving body rigidity and gear support precision.
And "winding power UP". Winding power has been improved by increasing the diameter of the gear.
Furthermore, "improved rotational durability". Rotational durability has also been improved by increasing the diameter of the gear.
Finally, "improved waterproofness". The waterproofness of the body has been improved due to the synergistic effect of the improved airtightness of the monocoque body and the high water resistance of the mag shield.

ZAION V is used for the body material and ZAION is used for the brake lever.

Introducing the newly developed XH model with a gear ratio of 6.6 (99cm).
The monocoque body realizes even higher gearing, allowing you to choose between two gear ratios: the XH model, which allows for quick device collection and exchange, and the H model, which has a gear ratio of 6.2 (93cm).

Continuing spool compatibility and compatibility with past spools.

What are lever brakes for?
The lever brake type spinning reel (hereinafter referred to as LB) is a reel that was originally developed for use in float fishing. By adjusting the force of your finger on the lever, the rotor can be reversed, allowing the angler to send out the line at will.
In general drag type reels, depending on how tight the drag knob is, when a certain load is applied, the drag will slip and the line will come out. Both LB and drag type have the function of sending out line, but their structures are completely different. If the drag is an automatic mechanism, it will be easier to understand if you think of the LB as a mechanism that manually sends out the line.
So, why is LB so often used when fishing for floatfish? In order to understand the effectiveness of LB and how to use it, it is first necessary to firmly understand the "basics of interaction" in float fishing.
The basic method of fishing for flounder is to use a rod. The rod's job is to stop the fish from running, to bring the fish closer to the surface, and to guide the fish to avoid underwater obstacles. When you stand the rod upright and bend it, the repulsive force creates a rich elasticity. This elasticity absorbs the pull of the fish and provides the power to attract the fish.
The tackle for flounder fishing is really well thought out, and when you add the elasticity of the rod to the stretch of the line, the entire tackle acts as a high-quality cushion. If you have a well-balanced tackle, you will not be able to easily break the Harris or the line just by raising the rod firmly and bending it.
However, if the fish suddenly runs away during the exchange, the rod may be stretched out. When this happens, the rod loses its elasticity.
This is where LB's work begins. When the rod is about to be stretched, loosen the lever and instantly release the line to correct the angle of the rod. By doing this, you can restore the rod's elasticity to its original state.
Lines can be sent out instantly when needed. This is the privilege of LB, and it can be said to be the biggest reason why LB is preferred for fluff fishing.
When putting out the line, put it out all at once and stop it all at once.
The role of the LB is to send out the line instantly and correct the angle of the rod. However, the correct way to use the LB is to put out the line all at once, and once the rod is raised, stop it all at once.
In fact, it is counterproductive to send out the line in small increments with the rod extended. In this state, not only will you not be able to take advantage of the elasticity of the rod, but you may also irritate the fish and make it run even further.
"Cygnus LBD" is an item that allows you to perform the basic operations of the LB reel, such as "putting out" and "stopping", at a high level. The smooth rotation provided by the monocoque body allows for smooth winding and feeding. BITURBO BRAKE SYSTEM provides powerful braking power with light force. Enjoy the manual-like interaction to your heart's content with the Cygnus LBD, which pursues the ideal LB reel and has thoroughly refined its basic performance.
