In response to a request from EVERGREEN USA staff member Justin Carr,
Kikumoto Toshifumi was inspired to create a pencil bait called the
Combat Pencil Justine.
Justin's request was for it to be something that wouldn't be seen off by sharp-eyed bass in clear water and would lead to a bite.
In particular, it needed to be able to withstand the fast bites of smallmouth bass that they don't even notice, and to be able to reliably
lead to a hookup.
To these, Kikumoto added casting ability and the power to attract bass.
