It is said that the pattern of feeding on transparent or small bait such as whitebait, plankton, and shrimp makes rockfish particularly selective and difficult to capture. A solid body is effective in such a situation. Compared to general hollow body plugs, it has very little diffuse reflection, a transparent and unique texture, and even selective rockfish will use their mouth.
Although it is a plug, it has a joint structure that produces a lustrous action like a worm. When retrieved slowly, it naturally invites fish with a swaying wobbling action, and if you speed up the retrieve, it appeals to fish with a fast-pitch S-shaped action.
The no-sinker design allows for a slow fall/retrieval. Based on a slow retrieve just below the water surface, it is possible to invite a variety of fish, such as lift and fall on the surface/shallows using the slow fall, and a swinging action with a reduced movement distance.
