"Another F model" that achieves both casting in the wind and avoidance performance
■ RUDRA130 series
A pioneer of 13cm minnows for bass released in 2005, not only SP but also F model and S model, and SF model with fixed center of gravity in OSP Works Secondary series. Currently, he continues to expand the range of activities not only for bass but also for fish species and countries. The backing of the catch is the pursuit of total performance such as flying, swimming, flushing, and sound. It is a condensation of the lure development mechanism that has been established, for example, a high-response swim with a honeycomb super HP body that can be lightweight while maintaining strength. Low center of gravity of W by plate-shaped fixed weight + multiple miniaturized moving weights. Long cast performance produced by the calculated body shape. Full flat body that produces flushing. RUDRA was developed by thoroughly examining all the elements for winning these fishing.
■ Aim of MSF (medium slow floating)
Rudra's SP is 20g and F is 17g, so it's intentionally closer to high float. Even so, it can be cast without any problem if there is some wind due to the movement of the center of gravity, but SP is definitely superior in strong winds. On the other hand, the response of the free winding, the sharpness at the bottom knock, the avoidance ability, etc. are the dogmatic field of F. In other words, MSF was aimed at the middle, and its own weight is 18.2g. By using two tungsten weights to move the center of gravity, the weight of the moving weights has doubled compared to F. This 1.2g difference greatly changes the performance of the lure. For example, in a strong wind, it is possible to attack the point where there is a risk of snagging with a long cast from a rocky wind, or to use the F model, when the weed top is low, it is possible to float as an MSF that feels like an SP and dodge it. In other words, MSF is an item that fills the gap between SP and F, which was a little large.
Utilization in Lake Biwa
The weight of Rudra 130MSF is 18.2g. The SP model is 20g and the F model is 17g, just filling the middle. The tungsten movement weight realizes a flight distance approaching SP, and the stop & go and free winding crisp response and structure avoidance ability inherit that of F. MSF can attack with a weed top of around 1.5m, as opposed to twitches and stop-and-goes with a weed top of 2m or more in the SP. From March to April, in the middle range near the weed outside and bay mouth, SP is essential to float the bass and bring it to the bite, but when the water temperature rises and the timing of feeding, it actively preys on the shallow inside edge and shallow range. Since such individuals are highly active, there is no need to stop them with SP. F also has the ability to avoid structures, but because it tends to float high, it immediately leaves the structure. MSF is a single character, rip rap under your feet on the land, stop the action at the moment you detect the weed top, and use it like licking it while avoiding it. By replacing the original hook with a hook with a weight such as a thick shaft, it becomes even more dead slow floating, so it is possible to attack according to the activity, swimming layer, and structure density.
Utilization in Lake Kasumigaura
It started in early March 2014 when I heard that there was a smelt pattern using Rudra in the Kitaura water system. I heard that Rudra can be caught especially because it matches the size of smelt. Rudra is one of my favorite OSP lures!! I immediately went to the Kitaura water system and experienced the smelt big minnow pattern in spring. There was a key condition for winding the windy side seawall for free in Okappari. It is "wind". The smelt lays eggs at night, weakens, floats, and is swept along the seawall by the wind. In other words, in order for the smelt pattern to work, it is an absolute condition that the wind hits the seawall with a hard bottom on the side of the cliff, and a long cast in the wind is necessary. There are 3 types of Rudra, and if flying in a blast is the top priority, I use the SP type, but I'm worried about it depending on the location, such as a rough bottom or a clay-like hard bottom. Although the F type has excellent evasive ability, it is difficult to fly in the wind. Also, Spec 2SF is used to create a gap between knocking on the hard bottom and reacting, but because it has a fixed center of gravity, it was difficult to fly in the wind like F. So I wanted a model that would be between F and SP. MSF incorporates the good parts of SP and F, and on the windy side, it is possible to throw long distances from Okappari, and with its high evasion ability, it can also attack points where there is a risk of rooting. It will definitely be a strong weapon in this year's smelt pattern.
